Central Community Unit School District 301 looked to Gilfillan Callahan Nelson Architects for help to meet its surging enrollment in the Burlington area. The firm began by developing a master plan that included three school projects—a new elementary school, new middle school, and an addition to Burlington Central High School. Country Trails Elementary School , a 77,809-square-foot school with a capacity of 725 students, officially opened in August 2007.
