Library
Cook Memorial Public Library District approached Gilfillan Callahan Nelson Architects with two issues it was facing: an overcrowded flagship branch in Libertyville, and patrons' desire for a satellite branch in nearby Vernon Hills. Architects assisted library officials with an exhaustive space needs study of the 34,000 square-foot Libertyville branch, and also helped library leaders look at possible land parcels in the Vernon Hills area for the new branch location. Both facilities will be complete in 2009.
