The Village of Glenview contracted Gilfillan Callahan Nelson Architects to design its replacement Fire Station No. 7. The project included the demolition the existing No. 7 Station on Glenview Road to make room for the new facility. Because the station is tightly nestled in a neighborhood, great consideration was given to its proximity to neighbors. Architects worked closely with village and fire department leaders to design an 8,600 square-foot fire station with a double-deep, 40-foot by 80-foot apparatus bay, men and women’s locker rooms, fitness room, conference room, day room with open kitchen feature, and bunk room. The new station opened in June 2009.
